What comes next? It’s a question we ask throughout our lives. Sometimes it comes with a career change, retirement, a new opportunity, or an unexpected turn. Other times, nothing dramatic has happened at all. We simply find ourselves wondering what we want more of in our lives—and what we might be ready to change.

Join Jenny Riddle and John Newton for a day of stories, conversation, laughter, reflection, and practical learning. Jenny is a communication trainer, speaker, and professional storyteller who helps individuals and organizations communicate with greater confidence and courage. John is a public speaker and human resources and learning and development professional with more than 20 years of experience helping companies and individuals reach their potential. In addition to leading John Newton and Associates, he is a longtime instructor at DePaul University and Northern Illinois University.

We’ll talk about purpose, relationships, work, and the many other things that compete for our time and attention. We’ll also get practical: How do we ask for what we need? Have a courageous conversation? Negotiate without damaging a relationship? Communicate more effectively? And how can a little more kindness change the way we approach other people—and ourselves?

You’ll have opportunities to talk, write, reflect, practice, learn from one another, meet some new people, and probably laugh along the way.

You won’t leave with all the answers. But we hope you’ll leave a little clearer about what matters to you, with some ideas you can actually use, new connections, and perhaps a little more hope about what comes next.
