International Leadership Conference in Toronto
Drawing on a real-world community project that brought together 100 singers, musicians, and volunteers to re-create the song “We Are the World” on its 40th anniversary, the session offers an example of arts-based leadership in action. Conceived as a shared experience rather than a performance, the project unfolded under time constraints, skepticism, and environmental disruption, yet resulted in deep connection, shared ownership, and collective pride. Participants will engage with this case and take part in experiential activities that explore how leaders can create meaningful moments that foster trust, connection across difference, and shared purpose in their own leadership contexts.
